The Canadian Expat Video Contest
There are 2.7 million Canadians living outside of Canada. Most record at least a portion of their life while abroad on video. We want to see those videos!
Until November 11, 2007 we are running the first annual Canadian Expat Video Contest. The winner will recieve a Dynex 7″ Portable DVD Player.
It’s easy to enter. Here’s what we are looking for~
- Images demonstrating your location- (Mt. Fuji, Eiffel Tower, Penquins of Antartica).
- You, your family, friends or coworkers doing something uniquely Canadian (use your imagination).
How to Submit:
- Create a Video (or dig one up)
- Uploaded it to Youtube, Google Video, IFilm, MetaCafe or MySpace. Don’t forget to include a link to www.thecanadianexpat.com when you upload it.
- Email the ‘Embeded script’ with a brief description of the video(50 words max) to video@thecanadianexpat.com
- Do not email us the video file! We only want the information to link to it
- Don’t forget to include a list with the author’s Name and Location (country & city).
Here are a few rules:
- Only one entry per person.
- Videos should be 5 min max.
- Videos with Distasteful Content, Vulgar Language or Pornography will not be permited
- No Pirated Material (video or music)
- The Canadian Expat Reserves the right to refuse any entry for any reason.

- George Plamondon - makes a video about a Canadian friend playing baseball in the US in a uniquely Canadian way.
- He uploads it to YouTube.
- George then sends us the “Embed Script” <object width=”425″ height=”350″><param name=”movie” value=”h… etc. etc. etc.
- George includes a description of the video and info about him.
- We post the video-
